THE CRAVING CURE FOUNDATION AT A GLANCE

A Distinct Identity

I had always wanted to start my own non-profit organization, but I always thought it had to be centred around one singular cause. I started thinking, and I realized that my cause did not have to be one-dimensional because the world is not one-dimensional. Now, we advocate for any cause that needs a voice. From breast cancer research to educating orphaned girls, we do it all, and I could not be more proud of how far we have come.

"KILL CANCER, LOVE LIFE" BREAST CANCER RESEARCH FUNDRAISING GALA

January 2018

The image shows breast cancer survivors cutting a cake we had set up for them. The gala was centred around breast cancer awareness and celebrating the lives of those who battled the disease.

"COME BE A KID AGAIN" FUNDRAISING PICNIC

July 2018

The Craving Cure Foundation's entire team was present for this fundraising picnic. We ran games for the guests and served food to encourage spending time with loved ones and taking time off technology. The money for this event was donated to a girls' orphanage in Punjab.

"MELODIOUS EVENING" FUNDRAISING GALA

July 2018

We put together this event for music lovers in the Punjabi community. We brought in an Indian classical singer to perform for the guests, and we donated the proceeds from this event to an orphanage as well.

"TRINJJAN" FUNDRAISING CARNIVAL AND CONCERT

September 2019

This event was our biggest one yet. We brought in famous Punjabi singers to entertain the crowd, and we also had 15 vendors in the lobby for shopping. The proceeds from this event were donated to breast cancer research, but it accomplished more than just that; we were able to spread our love for Punjabi culture to so many other people.

INDIA FARMERS' PROTEST FUNDRAISER

December 2020

This cause was very close to our hearts. As farmers made their way to India's capital to protest new agricultural laws that threaten their livelihoods, we thought about what we could do to help. We couldn't travel from Canada to India because of travel restrictions, so our team in India handled the ground work, while we did the fundraising out here. We distributed warm clothes, blankets, and other supplies to the farmers on location.

FIRST ANNUAL FOOD DRIVE PICNIC

August 2022

The COVID-19 pandemic had lasting impacts on so many families in the Peel Region, forcing so many to rely on food banks. We wanted to support the community as much as we could, so  we organized The Craving Cure Foundation's First Annual Food Drive Picnic. We were able to gather about $5,500 worth of non-perishable food items which we donated to the Seva Food Bank. We also wanted the event to contribute to one of our focuses of raising awareness about breast cancer in the South Asian community, so we had cancer survivors speak to the attendees at the event.
